Education

A full complement of teachers imparts education, each qualified in the subjects they are teaching; separate for Junior and Senior classes. In addition to the regular curriculum, the following subjects are also taught:

The State Education Board Syllabus is followed in the school, and the pupils are prepared for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination of the Meghalaya Board School. A love of learning is instilled from the outset, and the SSLC results are consistently good, and leavers move confidently into higher education.

Boarders and Day pupils are encouraged to take advantage of the excellent extra- curricular activities. Sports, Music and Drama feature strongly in school life.

ADMISSION

The School is co-educational. The placing of a student as a pupil at St. John’s School implies a full acceptance of the Rules and Regulations of the School.

Applications for admission, on prescribed forms, will be accepted immediately after the announcement of the M.B.O.S.E. HSLC result. Each application must be accompanied by:

    1. An attested copy of the mark sheet of the examination passed.
    2. A recent passport-size photograph of the student.

When a student is admitted, the Admission Form must be accompanied by:

    1. A testimonial copy of the character from the Head of the school last attended.
    2. An attested copy of the admit card and mark sheet of the last examination passed.
    3. Two further passport-size photographs of the student.
    4. An ORIGINAL Transfer certificate from the School last attended.
    5. An attested copy of the Schedule Caste/Tribe Certificate.

An ORIGINAL Migration certificate, for those students coming from Boards other than Meghalaya is to be handed over to the office not later than one month from the date of admission.
